Here we are! Our finalists have been chosen – Congratulations to you all!

It’s our 6th year of The Flavours of Herriot Country Awards. And we have been absolutely delighted and extremely impressed with the number, the quality, and the diverse range of entries from across Richmondshire and Hambleton.

Not an easy task at all for our Chair of Judges, Susie Brindley, and team of highly respected food and drink experts, who had to choose from such strong contenders, all hoping to win the coveted Flavours Awards trophies.

The judges will all have their work cut out as they now start the judging process, and they will have some difficult decisions to make in choosing the worthy winners from this year’s finalists.

Susie Brindley said “”We were delighted to see a record number of entries for the awards this year, but amazed not only at the quantity but also the outstanding quality. We are so fortunate to have such a diverse spectrum of wonderful food producers, retailers and establishments in Herriot country. It makes the judging process so difficult but also an honour. Congratulations to all of the finalists this year.”

Last year’s winners have had such positive responses, which they felt was due to the publicity and media coverage, with some winners reporting back to us that they’d had significant increases in business.

The Flavours of Herriot Country Awards are yet again supported and sponsored by some generous businesses in the region, with North Yorkshire County Council being our Principal Supporter, as well as support from Welcome to Yorkshire and Hambleton District Council, and the sponsors of each of the award categories.

The awards will be presented by BBC Radio York presenter, Elly Fiorentini, and will be held on Friday 1nd December, at The Garden Rooms, Tennants, Leyburn, 11.00am to 2.30pm. starting with a drinks reception, and sharing platters of Yorkshire Fayre for lunch.

This year we will be entertained by Jake Walsh, known affectionately as Gingerotti, who has released a debut album, ‘Jacob Walsh. Yorkshire Tenor’.
