Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better for the Flavours of Herriot Country Awards, the 2016 awards proved us wrong! Along came a record number of entries, from so many outstanding businesses, which made the 2016 awards such a prestigious and prominent event
It is you that make these awards so special, so please, take a little bit of time and enter the awards, in this, our 6th year, and join us in celebrating and acknowledging all that is great and good in our wonderful part of the world – Herriot Country. And although there are many awards in Yorkshire, what makes the Flavours Awards so significant is the sole focus on Richmondshire and Hambleton, and giving much deserved recognition to our great food and drink businesses.
This year we have a new Chair of Judges, Susie Brindley, who has an impressive background in the hospitality world, and we also have some new judges joining our independent panel of food and drink experts, alongside some of the previous judges.
Last year there were some tough choices for our hard working judging panel, headed by last year’s Chair of Judges Elaine Lemm. How to choose the finalists, and ultimately the winners, made for some serious tastings, testings, discussions and deliberations. You can see our list of winners from last year on the web site, and some amazing testimonials on what winning the awards meant to them, and how the awards highlighted their businesses, through great publicity and media attention. This is what it could do for your business!
We are pleased to announce that the Flavours of Herriot Country Awards 2017 is on Friday December 1st, 11.00am to 2.30pm. And again the awards will be held at The Garden Rooms, Tenants, Leyburn, who are such generous hosts, and help make the awards truly memorable, as well as providing an array of Yorkshire Fayre.
